3 Easy Ways To Keep Your Wood Floors Clean

Sharing is caring!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bona. All opinions are 100% mine.

When we moved into our home, all of the rooms had carpeting. All of the rooms, including the bathroom and the kitchen. Who puts carpet in rooms that are used for food prep and potty training? It didn’t take long before I was ripping up those carpets and exposing some pretty amazing wood floors underneath all that shag. The wood floors aren’t perfect but they are better than any carpet could ever be. I am sharing a few tips I use to keep my wood floors clean and beautiful to look at.

3 Easy Ways to Keep Wood Floors Clean

Take off the shoes

I want to keep my wood floors in the best shape possible, so shoes aren’t allowed on my floors.  Your shoes pick up so much “stuff.” Indoors and outdoors alike, everything and anything can get hung up on your shoes. If you aren’t careful you will bring all that “stuff” on to the wood floors and that is just asking for trouble. Let the shoes at the door!

Sweep Daily

When dust and debris finds it way to your hardwood floors you will want to dust it off as quickly as possible. Scratches and scuffs can occur when dust and dirt are on your hardwood floors. Sometimes I have to dry mop my floors twice a day. Bona® Microfiber Dusting and Cleaning pads can make it easy. I can dust the floors in a matter of minutes and feel confident the dust and debris is gone.

Deep Clean Weekly

At least once a week you need to give your wood floors a deep cleaning. You want those floors to look great and the Bona Wood floor system can help you do that. With a durable 4 piece mop handle and a 4″ x 15″ mop head you can clean a lot of your floor in a shorter amount of time.

The Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner is specifically formulated for hardwood floors, works to deep clean and bring out beauty that lasts. It’s simple to apply with an easy squirt bottle. First, it loosens tough, heavy dirt build-up. Next, peroxide penetrates for a deep clean and finally, the oxygenated bubbling action lifts away surface debris.

Bona PowerPlus is Bona’s most powerful cleaner yet. It works hand in hand with the patent pending Bona PowerPlus Deep Clean Pad to bring a powerful clean to all of your hardwood floors. The microfiber pad gently breaks apart and loosens tough dirt with the twisted nylon scrubbers while the dual zone pad absorbs and traps dirt. When you are done cleaning throw the Bona PowerPlus Deep Clean Pad in the washing machine and it will be ready to go again for next weeks deep cleaning.

Be sure to enter the Bona PowerPair Sweepstakes,  You will not only be deep cleaning your wood floors, but will have a chance to win great prizes, too!  Good luck!

It’s good to find a company that makes all your floor needs. I haven’t tried Bona but will look for it next time I’m at the store. Thanks!

We have laminate flooring which is just as much work. The good thing about wood floors is that we do see the dirt and know to clean it. With carpet, I think the dirt stays on the floors longer since we don’t tend to vacuum as often. Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday. Entered the sweepstakes 🙂

My hardwood floors get so dirty so fast, it is like I clean them one day then they are dirty the next. I have to pick up something this this for my floors.

We recently moved into a new house and we have beautiful wood floors, but they can be tough to keep clean. I am adapting to your no shoes rule, and I actually just bought Bona to care for my floors and keep them looking new. Thank you!

Great tips. You have to stay on top of your floor care when you have wooden floors or you’ll end up with dull, scuffed floors.

We have wood floors in our kitchen and livingroom right now. They do require some attention to stay looking good.

I seriously love the Bona wood care products I’ve tried. I hate it when the floor is sticky after cleaning. It just makes it worse!
