30 New Things Before 30 Years of Marriage

30 New Things Before 30 Years of Marriage updated March, 2018. This is our 30 years of marriage year! It’s time to get that bucket list taken care of.

This guy! I have had the privilege of being married to this amazing man for the past 28 years. He is the love of my life, my best friend and my soulmate.  The father of my children, a prayerful man of God and an amazing hands on dad. What more could a girl ask for?

30 new things before 30 years of marriage

I was only 19 years old on the day we said, ” I do.” I grew into adulthood as a wife and a mother. Our first son was born 4 short months after we were married. We never had a honeymoon and have spent these past 28 years raising a happy, healthy trifecta of kids. I wouldn’t change one single minute of it. My kids are my life! I love being a mom, but I am definitely ready for more “us time!” Our youngest child is creeping up on age 21 and now it is our turn. Our turn to focus on being a couple without reserve.  I am ready to grow our relationship, travel and have genuine fun in hopes of at least another 28 (or more)years of marriage with this guy I love.

30 New Things before 30 Years of Marriage

Starting our family young meant we didn’t experience many things outside our family setting. We had our occasional date nights, but never spent time being overly adventurous or spontaneous. That is about to change! I have been a laid back country girl for too long. It’s time to expand our horizons and get out of the valley into the real world. We are making a bucket list. In two short years we will celebrate 30 years of marriage.  That gives us two years to try 30 new things as a couple.

The Perfect Guy By My Side

Where should we start? I have a few ideas. We need to start with a couples massage. I have only ever had one professional massage and my husband has never had one. I figured that is the perfect place to start! I’d love the last item on our 30 things before 30 years of marriage bucket list to be a cruise. We’ve been talking about if for years. It’s always been on the wish list. Now it has to go on the bucket list of reality!

That’s two ideas, only 28 more to go. The challenge is on.

Do you have any ideas to add to our bucket list?

Michele is a married mom of 3 adult children. She is currently enjoying spending time with her husband in the empty nest. Michele can be found working on a healthy lifestyle, camping or having some frugal fun. Not necessarily in that order!

Congrats on those wonderful years together. I don’t know what to add, maybe each have a bit of a splurge on something you want but wouldn’t allow yourself to have – doesn’t have to be expensive. A hand crank noodle machine, a fancy saw… and nowadays kids often live home til much older, or leave and come back, so you may be a gang for a while more than you think!

Congratulations on your many happy years of marriage. I think the best idea could be a simple one – perhaps go do things together – whether it is camping or going to a national park or buying a motorhome to travel.

Congrats on both the 30 years of marriage as well as a great way to celebrate! I have been having a few of my own new adventures even a few outside my comfort zone. There is a little town in West Virginia called Berkley Springs that has a natural hot mineral spring. They have a state park facility that boasts a Roman Bath and spa. Try it you will be surprised how much you like it. We stayed in a B&B that was great too called Brookside Cottage.

I recommend Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The pool is filled by the natural hot springs. The pool is as large as a football field. It is an experience just to see it. Lots of neat things to do in Colorado and Utah.

Congrats on 30 years. You guys should recreate one of the first dates you had and pretend to be carefree teenagers again! Include spending money on something silly but fun (could be the quarter candy machines or get the rings out the machine lol)

Congratulations! We had going on a cruise on our bucket list and went on a cruise last year. We loved it and plan to take a cruise to Alaska next year. We also hope to rent an RV and travel the country.
