How to make funnel cakes in the air fryer:

First we need to combine the yogurt, vanilla, cinnamon, and flour in a bowl. Just mix until they are combined and then go in with your hands and kneed the dough for about 2 minutes. If the dough is sticky add flour a small amount at a time until it’s easy to kneed.

Next we want to prepare a work surface. Put down some parchment paper and dust it with flour. Put the dough on the paper and cut the ball into 4 equal sections.

Now we want to work with one of the four sections. Cut the dough into 6 pieces. Rolling them each into a long thing rope that is about 8-10 inches long will work best. After they are rolled out pile up the ropes of dough and shape them loosely into a funnel cake.

This is the fun part of how to make funnel cake for Weight Watchers. Keep going until you have formed all four funnel cakes. While you are forming them you can preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F.

Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray and depending on the size of your basket you can put 2 of the funnel cakes into the basket. Spray the tops of the cakes with cooking spray before you put them into the air fryer.

Allow the cakes to cook for about 5 minutes until they are browned slightly and cooked the whole way through. Repeat the process until all of your funnel cakes are cooked!

Dust the funnel cakes with powered sugar and serve when warm. If you are eating them later I would recommend waiting to put the sugar on until they are reheated.

Serving Size is 1 funnel cake…or as many as you like…I can’t tell you what to do 🙂

How many points are in each of these air fryer funnel cakes?

Each funnel cake is 1 serving. That makes it nice and easy to figure out the points for these tasty treats. A serving (1 funnel cake) is 4 Freestyle Smart Points! I know…it seems too good to be true, right?!

I’m also going to include the new WW program information below in case you have made the switch and are looking for the updated points info.

  • For the Green Plan on WW these are 5 points per funnel cake.
  • For the Purple Plan on WW these are 4 points each.
  • On the Blue Plan you are following the regular Freestyle Points which is 4 as well!

This recipe makes 4 funnel cakes so you will have extra to share or to save for later. I always like to have a couple extra for snacking, and of course my family loves recipes like this…it’s great when Weight Watchers recipes are great for everyone. No need to make two recipes for everything.

Sorry, but I tried these the exact same recipe that was in the "Relish" section of the newspaper, however doubled (I only made 4). They weren't that hard to make a little time consuming but ok. But the finished funnel cake was absolutely terrible. I cut off a small piece the next morning, heated for about 5 sec in microwave and dusted with powdered sugar. They really had no flavor and were very very dense and tough and my husband's remarks were the same. Glad I only made 4, but unfortunately they went into the garbage. They looked good but that was about it.
