The sweltering heat and humidity of long summer days in PA has peaked this week! So how do you beat the summer blues? Eat yummy frozen treats! Oh and add some water balloons, swimming, boat rides and lazy days of reading in the shade and you have a perfect day! (Some A/C would be nice, too!)

Silk Blends

On Saturday afternoon we arrived home to a quart of fresh raspberries on our porch. YUM! We are blessed with great neighbors who share their garden fruits and veggies with the neighborhood. Raspberries are so nutritious, a great super food to add you eating plan! They provide you with:

  • Vitamin C
  • Dietary Fiber

  • Antibacterial Properties

Plus, their low in calories and fat. Eating raspberries is a great way to get a sweet treat that is a benefit to you in many ways!

Making your own form of frozen pops let’s you control the ingredients. I think Popsicle molds is one of the best gadgets we have in the kitchen and we have several sets. It’s another great way to get your kids in the kitchen.

The boys slowed down for a few minutes to enjoy their Almond Coconut Rasperry Frozen Pops. The Popsicle recipe using the Almond Coconut Silk Blends® was a big hit.

I cannot wait to try this recipe with pureed pineapple. I bet it will taste just like a frozen Pina Colada. Be sure to visit the Silk Blends® store locator to find the flavors available in your local area.

What kind of frozen treats do you  plan to whip up this summer?
