Batman Bathroom Trash Can Tutorial

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We took the challenge to create something unique with FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ in the scallop pattern.  FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ is also available in Chevron and Wave pattern, too.

When the scallop tape arrived, I thought I was going to paint my laundry room and use the scallop to make an edge around the top of the room. We tested the tape out with a few ideas. My husband created a scallop design using the tape to make a wide scalloped stripe. He used black paint and the first thing I thought of when he pulled the tape off was, Batman!

Luckily I happen to know a great little boy who has requested the bathroom in his new home be decorated with a Batman theme. I was super excited we could use the the Frog Tape to make a unique DIY Batman Bathroom Trash Can Tutorial.

Supplies needed

FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ in scallop pattern. (Available at Walmart and Lowes)

11 inch white plastic trash can (preferably one with a smooth surface.

Batman Decals (we found a huge pack for $5 at Walmart)

Yellow Paint (We used craft, but latex samples sizes would work, too)

Black Paint (We used craft, but latex samples sizes would work, too)

FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ has a PaintBlock technology. It keeps the paint out and still keeps the lines sharp. The technology is activated when used with a latex water based paint.

Start with a clean drive surface. When applying the FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ there is a crease on the back that lets you remove 1/2 of the adhesive at a time. For this project you will only need to use 1/2 of the adhesive, so don’t bother uncovering both sides.

Measure down 1.5 inches from the top of trash can and put your first row of Scallop Shape Tape™adhering the bottom 1/2 of the Scallop only.

Measure up 1.5 inches from bottom of trash can and put a 3rd row of Scallop Shape Tape™ adhering only the top 1/2 of the scallop.

Measure up 1.25 inches from the top of the row you just applied and put your 4th row of Scallop Shape Tape™ adhering the bottom 1/2 of the Scallop  only.

Paint the top row with black paint.

Paint the bottom row with yellow paint.

Immediately remove FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ and allow to dry thoroughly.

Add your decals

Perfect Batman Bathroom Trash Can for a Batman fan of any age!

We only did one the one side of the trash can. We are looking for you opinions. Do you think we should do the back side of the trash can or keep it one sided only
