Can you believe it’s back to school time already? Where did summer go? We’ve been busy school shopping and enjoying the last few days of summer vacation. While we’re shopping I am always on the lookout for products we use that participate in the Box Tops for Education program.

We’ve been huge supporters of Box Tops for Education collections at our local schools for over 15 years. It’s always been a family affair to find the products, clip the Box Tops and add them to the classroom collection box. I have sent numerous envelopes to school stuffed with Box Tops we have collected and those that family and friends have saved for us.

All those years the clipped Box Tops never had a real home before they went to school. You could find them on the microwave, in backpacks, in bedrooms, in drawers and even sometimes on the floor. Box Tops for Education should have been treated like money, but it didn’t happen, until now. This year we made all the nieces and nephews Magnetic Binder Pouches. It’s our hope that having a pouch that can go easily from home to school, we’ll keep the family Box Tops collection neat and organized.

Box Tops Pouch in Binder

You can make your own Box Tops for Education Magnetic Binder Pouch for the whole family.

Supplies needed:

Binder Pouch (Walmart has them in several colors for less than $1)

Binder (we have a 1 1/2 inch binder, but any size will do)

Magnetic Tape

Markers, stickers, tape.rubber stamps, etc. (optional)

Remove cardboard insert from binder pouch

Turn it over and decorate as desired.

Put on piece of magnetic tape (approx. 7 inches) on the back of the binder pouch on the zipper end.

Push tape down to ensure a secure attachment.

Hang the pouch on any magnetic surface. (ours is on the refrigerator)

When you make your pouch, hang it on the refrigerator and fill it up. Pick up your favorite General Mills products and clip those Box Tops! A few of our favorite products are Lucky Charms, Reese’s® Peanut Butter Puffs® and Sunkist® Fruit Shapes.

I had my niece at Walmart picking out a few things for the big back to school week. We were excited to see so many of our favorite brands participating in the Walmart Bonus Box Tops offer. When you purchase select General Mills® products you will see the regular Box Tops and a bonus certificate. The list of participating products is huge! Keep your eyes open for the bonus packaging.
