Country Girl Goes to the City!

Thanks to THE RIDE for complimentary tickets to use when this country girl went to New York City.

When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t wait to grow up. I remember thinking I was going to be a ballerina or a doctor. Thankfully, God had other plans for me! I cannot dance and bodily fluids aren’t my cup of tea. I also thought I’d move away to bigger and better places, but that didn’t happen either. Again, God knew what he was doing, because I am not a city girl! I’ll gladly visit the city any chance I can, but country living is the place for me!

Country Girl Goes to the City!

I have lived in rural Central Pennsylvania all of my life. You have to drive at least 20 minutes to get to a grocery store or a Walmart. I am surrounded by farm land, a small housing development and lots of very tall trees. I like my rural life and am proud to be a country girl.

Country Girl Goes to the City

This past weekend, my daughter, daughter-in-law and I took a quick weekend trip to New York City. It’s been a few years since I traveled to NYC and was really looking forward to some time in the Big Apple. After we arrived, I remembered why I am not a city girl.

Country Girl Goes to the City

The city is crowded. I cannot believe all of the people. The city is dirty. Trash and pigeons are in abundance. The stores and sites are busy. We visited a few beauty and clothing stores, Carlos Bakery, Bryant Park and Central Park. Space to move was a bare minimum. I am not a city girl, BUT I can be a city a tourist!

The food we had in NYC was amazing. The Sushi and Cannoli we had was delicious! I won’t find those top notch foods in my rural Central PA town. Heck, I can’t even get a pizza delivered to my house. I am not a city girl, but I’ll take the NYC foodie stops any day I can.

We walked a lot in NYC. My FitBit was probably in shock. NYC is a great place to walk, minimal hills and lots of sidewalks. I am not a city girl, but I do love a good level walking space.

The shows and attractions, like THE RIDE is something I can’t experience in rural Central PA. Taking the THE RIDE was the perfect way to do sight seeing of New York City in comfort.  Two on board hosts get the show started, with trivia, karaoke and good wholesome fun! You will tour the big apple in a motor coach like not other.

THE RIDE’s stadium-style-sideways-sitting seating let’s passengers experience the exhilarating, breathtaking, overpowering experience that is New York. You will hit all the hot spots Times Square, the Bank of America Tower, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Terminal, The New York Public Library, historic Bryant Park, Radio City Music Hall, 50 Rockefeller Plaza, Sixth Avenue’s Skyscraper Alley, Carnegie Hall, the Hearst Tower’s Atrium, Central Park, 42nd Street and Columbus Circle, all while enjoying street shows and fun commentary along the way.

THE RIDE is definitely a rock star show you don’t want to miss! You not only experience the awesome fun inside the bus, there will be some fun street show surprises along the way, too. So much fun!!

How fun! Would love a trip to the city! I’m in Canada and although I live in Toronto it’s nothing like NYC. What an experience that would be!

I am right there with you. I’m not specifically a country girl or a city girl I live in the suburbs. I can say that I would much prefer living in the country over a city it’s just too busy.

The Ride is great! It looks like you had a great time! While I am not from the country (from Philly), even NYC is overwhelming to me!

NYC is a great place to visit but, you are right, the crowds and filth can get to you. I still love the energy and variety it offers. I’m a suburbanite who has live in the city and countryside; I love them all for different reasons.
