Thank you to Wonderful Pistachios, Wonderful Almonds, and Fiji Water for donating a backpack, almonds, pistachios, and bottles of water in addition to a $25 gift card to inspire our participation in the #GivingBackPacks project to donate school supplies & make a difference.
It’s year three of the Giving Back Packs project and I’m proud to be participating again this year. Giving back to your community with somethings as simple as school supplies is easy and will make a difference to a child and help them kick off the school year on a positive note.
At the end of back to school season, I am always looking for backpacks that are marked down. Last year I was able to find backpacks marked down to $5. Since, the folks at Wonderful sent us a backpack to donate, we were able to give back and make a difference with four backpacks full of school supplies this year.
Our backpack donations will be going to our local Community Action Agency, Central Susquehanna Opportunities, Inc. Their mission is to improve social, educational and economic environments, which allow for optimum growth for our region and the elimination of poverty. The donations of backpacks will give a few well deserving kids a great start to a new school year.
Now is the perfect time to buy school supplies! You can find bargains galore. Use coupons, price matching and rock bottom prices to get the best deals you can and stock up. School supplies also make great donations to toy drives, local social service agencies, early childhood programs and churches. Buy now and give later. Don’t forget to look for those clearance backpacks, too.
While you are stocking up on school supplies don’t forget the snacks, too. Wonderful Pistachios and Wonderful Almonds are available in convenient tube packs that will fit perfectly in a backpack. I don’t know about you, but my kids always wanted a snack for the bus ride. For some reason those buses brought out the hunger pains. With Wonderful Almonds and Pistachios you can feel good about giving your kids a delicious and nutritious snack that is full of the nutrients they need to feed their growing bodies.
What are you doing to make a difference in your neighborhood?
