Saving Money On Pet Supplies

Saving Money On Pet SuppliesOne part of our lives that tends to be overlooked when we are attempting a new frugal lifestyle are our pets. Saving Money On Pet Supplies can seem nearly impossible, but we have some simple and effective solutions to help you manage to care for your pets while sticking to your frugal lifestyle. Not only will you be giving your pets the best you can, you’ll be able to do so without losing out on money in other parts of your household budget.

Use coupons. There are tons of coupons put out by the top pet food and product brands each month. Simply open your coupon inserts, and you’ll find tons to choose from. However, you can also go the step further and contact the brands and companies you use on a regular basis and ask them for coupons and discounts.

Make your own pet food. You may not have thought about it before, but there are excellent recipes for dog foods and treats all over the Internet. Dog and cat treats are simple to make (just look cookies) and can be much cheaper than the pricier store branded items. When using recipes found online, always make sure to double check the safety of ingredients for your pet.

Shop around. Don’t buy things like flea and tick control, worm medicine or other routine medications for your pets at the first place you find. Shop around at various local veterinarian clinics as well as online at popular pet websites for the best prices. Ordering in bulk can often give you better rates, but don’t forget to check with the company that makes the product fist. They will often have great free offers or rebates at your disposal.

Your pets deserve the best you can give them, and frugal living doesn’t take that option away. Work with your veterinarian to find out the best products for your pet. You don’t have to spend your entire budget on great pet supplies for your furbabies.

I use coupons on buying Dog food and treats, and I notice that dog food has gotten more expensive lately. But I use coupons, and look for sales!

I use coupons wherever I can. As for dog treats, I use a lot of dried fruits and veggies that they can have. I found papaya helps with the passing of gas issues and they like the treat.
