This post is about Jessica the talented sister of the 2.

Almost 4 years ago, as a stay at home mom, Jessica became interested in finding innovative ways to add low cost furniture to her home.  She discovered a blog that posted free do it yourself furniture plans. She had the basic tools and the know how,  but the only wood she had was several pallets leftover from a recent demo job done on her home.

Jessica knew using her talents in creative ways to recycle pallets would meet her needs and quickly. She decided to try using the 1 x 6 boards to build a headboard. That one headboard turned out great and she ended up with headboards in every corner of her basement. Her husband, kept asking what she planned to do with all of these headboards, so a decision was made to try and sell them. Her husband thought she was nuts and his famous quote was “who’s going to buy these headboards made out of from pallets?”  The rest is history. To date Jessica has sold over 150 pieces of furniture and creative projects made from recycled pallets. What started out as a money saving recycle project, is now a lucrative business.

I really like the idea of using them as backing for open bookcases. Classes them up (in a country way) and really adds pizazz.

I need to buy a set of pallets to put some garage items on while we move. After the move I won’t need the pallets anymore. This website is really creative in what we can do with the pallets instead of just burning them as firewood. I wonder if my wife would like a set of hanging shelves for her makeup and other toiletries
