This recipe uses really easy ingredients to make a great casserole side dish that everyone will love. We will use green beans, onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, low fat cream of mushroom soup, and reduced fat cheddar cheese.

How to make Weight Watchers Green Bean Casserole:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Pour out the green beans into a strainer to rid them of the liquid then add them to an 8 inch pyrex cooking dish. Set aside.
  3. Cook chopped onions on low-medium heat for 5 minutes to brown and cook to a slightly translucent finish while adding your sugar, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Add onions to your baking dish full of green beans and mix together.
  4. Once onions and green beans are mixed add in your cream of mushroom soup and stir in evenly.
  5. Sprinkle your cheese on top of your dish.
  6. Place in the oven to cook for about 25-30 minutes.

This recipe makes 4 servings. One serving is 1 cup.

Here's a traditional green bean casserole side dish with a healthier twist. Low in Weight Watchers points too.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of canned green beans
  • 1 medium fresh onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1-2  tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 12 oz can of low fat cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Can I use fresh cooked green beans? Would 1 pound cooked beans equal the 4 cups needed?

    1. I’ve never made this with fresh green beans, because I don’t like the texture. But about one pound should be about right. Thanks

  2. Can I use frozen green beans? What amount? How does it affect the points?

    1. Frozen green beans should not affect the points. With frozen green beans you will definitely need to increase the cooking time. I have never used the frozen green beans so I don’t have any tips on that. Thanks
