Fiber is an essential part of any healthy lifestyle diet. I used to be vigilant about using Metamucil as part of my daily routine. With travel and other commitments I’ve had since the beginning of the year, I sort of fell off the wagon. Guess what? I can feel it. I’m sluggish and feeling overall blah. When I had the chance to join the Metamucil Two-Week Challenge to restart and increase fiber intake I was more than ready.

Participating in the Metamucil Two-Week Challenge is the first step in getting back on the right track.  All you need to do is add one to two servings of Metamucil into and empty glass, add eight ounces of cold liquid, stir briskly and drink up. I have been taking my Metamucil with unsweetened iced tea. It’s great with water, too. You can even make smoothies or other recipes that can be found on the Metamucil Website.

It’s best to start off with one serving of Metamucil per day. Then, gradually increase to your desired intake throughout the challenge, up to three times daily. Don’t worry if your body feels different the first few days of the challenge. Some people may experience minor bloating or changes in bathroom habits.  That’s completely normal and it’s just your body adjusting to the increased fiber intake. After a few days of the Metamucil Challenge you won’t even remember those feelings.
