This is My Life: Hot Flashes and Brain Freeze. These obscure things are my new normal.  I bet that has you wondering what in the world I am talking about. Well, let me tell you.

This is my Life

I am almost 50.

My age is starting to get the best of me.

Hot flashes and night sweats are my constant companion.

I’m not sleeping, which means I am cranky and overeating.

Sometimes being a woman just isn’t fun!

No one likes to talk about PeriMenopause and all the “things” you will deal with on your way to menopause.

I am here to tell you it’s not all fun and games.

Ask your mother! She knows best!

What is fun and games for me right now is FROZEN Coffee!

That is where the brain freeze comes in.

Dunkin’ Donuts has always been my go my hot tea fix. XL Black Tea with one sweetener and skim milk. From late September through late April this is my drink of choice. After April, I don’t usually do Dunkin’. Well, let me tell you about this Frozen Coffee my husband introduced me to.

You can order your favorite coffee frozen. I don’t normally drink coffee, but frozen. Yes, please! My new drink of choice is Sugar-Free French Vanilla light on coffee. (I am a wuss!)

I’ll put up with the brain freeze because that frozen coffee makes me feel better about having to deal with hot flashes and night sweats.

This is my life!

Brain freeze makes me happy!

No matter what life brings me, I am choosing to be happy. JOY is a word that I try to focus on daily. No matter what has got us down in life, there’s someone out there that needs to see your smile or hear your voice.

We can all celebrate the little things!

What are you celebrating these days?

  1. Although things could definitely be easier in my life right now I’m celebrating the amazing options our son has for his education. He’s a bright, talkative boy. His favorite place to be is with me and his Dad. I think we’re going to make some tough school choices soon. I’m staying prayerful on the direction we should take with his education.

    1. Thanks Joyce! I definitely wrote this post in the heat of the moment. Parenting is hard! Even when your kids are adults! Praying over your children and about your decisions will definitely lead you down the right path.
