Orange Glazed Carrots Recipe

Orange Glazed Carrots Recipe is sponsored post brought to you on behalf of the X-Chef Vegetable Steamer. Regardless, all opinions shared are the honest experience of our family.

I am thankful that carrots are naturally sweet and provide you with many health benefits. Crunching on raw carrots gets me through the afternoon slump, when I’d normally be grabbing chips or chocolate. Using carrots as side dish adds a bright and delicious twist to any meal. Orange Glazed Carrots are made with perfectly steamed baby carrots and a few simple ingredients. Pair this recipe with beef, ham or even pork. You could also eat them as a meal, too.

Orange Glazed Carrots

The main ingredient in the Orange Glazed Carrots recipe is perfectly steamed baby carrots. That is where the X-Chef Vegetable Steamer comes in to play. The X-Chef Vegetable Steamer makes perfectly steamed vegetables every time. It’s made of stainless steel that will never rust, expands from six to eleven inches in diameter to fit in a variety of pots and becomes an instant steamer you can take with you anywhere.

X-Chef Vegetable Steamer

I think my favorite feature of the X-Chef Steamer is the sturdy legs with the silicone tips. I don’t have to worry about scratching my non-stick pans or the counter top. The fact that it’s dishwasher safe makes it a double winner.

The X-Chef Steamer has rubber feet so you don't have to worry about scratching your pans.

Orange Glazed Carrots Recipe

Glazed Carrots make a colorful side dish.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs baby carrots ( or other carrots cut in even sizes)

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 Tablespoons butter

2 teaspoons orange peel

2 Tablespoons water (I used the water from the pot when carrots were done steaming.)

Instructions:

First off you will have to have those perfectly steamed baby carrots to get the recipe started.

Place your X-Chef Vegetable Steamer Basket in a pot containing one to two inches of water. The water should be under the basket, so you may need to remove some water to make it work

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. As soon as the water starts to bubble and you can see steam coming from the pan, you can add the vegetables.

Spread the carrots evenly over the steamer basket. Cover the pot and continue to cook over medium heat.

Perfectly Steamed Carrots

Start checking the carrots every  few minutes. You want them to be tender, not mushy. Mine were done to my liking after 10 minutes.

While the carrots are steaming, in a separate sauce pan, melt the butter, add brown sugar and orange peel and stir until a glaze forms. Add the two tablespoons water and stir. Pour glaze over carrots and toss until well coated.

Serve immediately.
