You really can’t go wrong with this creamy dip. It’s spicy but the creaminess and cheesy goodness help take the edge off the spice. You can also control the level of spice by choosing your peppers and seasonings accordingly.

Feel free to adjust the recipe as you see fit. I’m making this lighter version for Weight Watchers users and those of us who are trying to stick to a healthier diet. You can use full fat versions of the cream and cheeses along with regular mayonnaise if you aren’t concerned with the calories and fat content.

Is this a gluten free appetizer?

Yes, I consider this a naturally gluten free appetizer because I make sure all the ingredients I am using are free from gluten and additives that can contain wheat.

You can do that by just checking labels or you can make your own seasoning blends when needed. I am so used to avoiding gluten that I do it automatically.

Make sure you are providing fresh veggies, gluten free pretzels or crackers, etc. if you need gluten free dipping supplies! For WW users the fresh veggies are definitely a great way to enjoy this recipe without splurging too much in the points department.

Can I make this jalapeño ranch dip recipe in advance?

I usually don’t make this in advance more than a few hours to overnight. Dip recipes that have this much cream in them tend to get a little weird or start to separate if left too long so be sure to give it a good stir before serving if you make this ahead of time.

If you can make this just a few hours in advance that’s the sweet spot for serving. You can keep leftovers in the refrigerator for a few days just keep in mind that the quality won’t be idea after a day or so. Mix mix mix before use for best results!

What do I serve with this creamy dip?

This jalapeño ranch dip is great served in a bread bowl. Not ideal if you are gluten free but for those of you who don’t have that worry you can serve this up in a bread bowl with chunks for dipping.

You can also serve this jalapeño ranch dip with pretzels, chips, crackers, veggies like peppers, carrots, cucumbers, celery, and even cherry tomatoes!
