Can I make this easy taco soup family friendly?

Not everyone likes spicy and I get that. You can make this recipe as spicy (or mild) as you’d like. You can use regular tomato juice and leave out the peppers if you’d like to dial it back a notch. Sub in green or red peppers if you’d like to keep the peppers but lose the heat.  Healthy taco soup is a quick and easy weeknight dinner. This Instant Pot spicy taco soup could not be more delicious. Do you have taco soup Crock Pot instructions? Can I make taco soup in slow cookers?

You could make this taco soup in slow cookers by cooking the ground turkey and then placing all the ingredients into the crockpot for a few hours on low. I find that soups with beans do much better when you can give them a few hours on low versus lower hours on high. I would want to make sure I cooked the ground turkey ahead of time for cooking in the Crockpot, other than that everything will be good to go once it’s warmed through.

Can I alter this recipe to be lower in points?

I don’t think 8 points is bad for a dinner or lunch recipe but if it’s too high for you here are some ways to reduce those points:
  • Make the recipe into 6 servings.
  • Use ground turkey breasts which would lower your points on the turkey.
  • Skip the olive oil, you won’t miss it!
  • If you are making this less spicy you won’t need the tomato juice which will drop a few points as well!

Saute ground turkey with olive oil, garlic and onion until cooked. Put in crockpot, add all other ingredients. Stir well and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. High for 4 to 6 hours. Good luck!
