The great thing about Weight Watchers is that it’s possible to eat anything you like as long as it is tracked, and in proportion to your daily points. That means that every recipe can be made into a Weight Watchers recipe!

One of the things my family loves to do is order Chinese takeout. We have several local places that make delicious…although not quite healthy…options. When the cravings strike, now I’m prepared with homemade versions.

Today I’m sharing my favorite which is the beef and broccoli but I’ve also got some delicious chicken fried rice you should try as well as an orange chicken recipe that is tasty and also calculated for Weight Watchers. WW Instant Pot Sweet and Sour Chicken is also a great takeout style meal that can be served with veggies, over rice, or made in advance for meal prep!

Here’s what you’ll need to make Weight Watchers beef and broccoli:

This Weight Watchers beef and broccoli recipe has two parts. We will be making the sauce first, which is delicious and gives the recipe all the classic flavors of Chinese takeout!

Here’s what you’ll need for the sauce: Truvia brown sugar blend, grated ginger, garlic, soy sauce, cornstarch, pepper, sesame oil, fat free beef broth, and lime juice, to taste.

This sauce can also be spiced up a bit if you want things a little more spicy. Add some red pepper flakes, cayenne, or even some chopped jalapeños if you like your Asian cuisine with a little more heat. Sometimes I’ll substitute a spicy garlic sauce for the grated garlic for a bit more kick!

In addition to the sauce ingredients we will be using cooking oil, beef strips, broccoli, and sesame seeds as garnish.

How to make an easy Weight Watchers beef and broccoli recipe:

Stir together all sauce ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Taste and adjust to personal preference. Set aside.

Place 2 Tablespoons of oil in a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped broccoli and saute until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet.

Add the remaining oil to the skillet and once hot, add the beef strips. Cook until beef is evenly browned and reaches an internal temperature of at least 135F (will continue to cook in the sauce).

Add the broccoli back to the skillet and pour in the sauce.

Cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until sauce is thickened.

Serve over noodles or rice, with a garnish of sesame seeds.

This recipe is about 4-6 points on the Weight Watchers Personal Points program depending on user settings. That doesn’t include the rice. You can serve this with cauliflower rice, quinoa, or anything you’d like! Rice will add more points but you can add those points based on whatever rice or grains or substitutes you choose to use!

Is there a way to lower the points on this recipe?

There are always ways to reduce the points on any recipe. You can make a few changes to this recipe to reduce the points. If you make changes be sure to recalculate the points for yourself to be sure you are accurately tracking!

Instead of cooking oil you can use fat free beef broth to keep the veggies and beef from sticking while you cook. Another option is to reduce the amount of soy sauce, sesame oil, Truvia, etc. you can make a little less sauce and it will help to reduce the points!
