For those of you who are looking for a quick and easy way to make a shareable treat that doesn’t have to come out looking perfectly…this cracker candy will be a winner every time. There’s not much science to it and you only need 5 easy to stock ingredients to make this sweet treat.
Can I make this cracker candy gluten free?
I like to provide information on gluten free swaps / alterations whenever I have recipes that are not fully gluten free as written. This Christmas cracker candy uses graham crackers which are not gluten free.
That said, you can use gluten free graham crackers to make this recipe without having to worry about the flavor being thrown off. Gluten free graham crackers are wildly varied from my experience so just use the ones you like or the ones you have on hand.
They are going to get coated in chocolate and covered with sprinkles, chocolate candies, and pecans so they don’t have to be the star of the show here!!
How much does this no bake dessert recipe make?
This recipe will make about 36 pieces. You can break it up how you like and you can always cut the recipe in half or double it depending on your needs.
I like to make a full batch or a double batch because it disappears QUICK. I also like to include some on my cookie plates when I make them up to share around the holidays. It makes for a nice break in the baking process and it also looks great to break up the monotony of cookies on a platter.
For holiday parties and family gatherings I usually make at least one batch and it goes out onto the grazing table for snacks and desserts. You can store it in an airtight container after it’s cooled and solidified which makes it easy to prep in advance and serve up when you need it!
What do I need to make Christmas cracker candy?
This recipe needs graham crackers, semi sweet chocolate chips, pecans, green M&M candies, and holiday themed sprinkles.
That’s all we’re using to make this simple no bake recipe. You can always swap out the semi-sweet chocolate chips for allergy friendly ones as well if need be so keep that in mind. Feel free to use whatever kind of chopped nuts you like.
If you have allergies to deal with or just don’t like pecans you can swap them out for whatever you like!! A little sprinkle of some flaky sea salt is always a nice topping addition as well!!
