Apple crisp is a great fall dessert but it is also really nice to make throughout the year. It’s very simple to put together, this homemade Weight Watchers apple crisp is perfect for breakfast too! My recipe is made with monk fruit sweetener but you can also use Swerve brown sugar.
What kind of apples should I use?
For this recipe and for Weight Watchers purposes you can use whatever kind of apples you like. If we have enough nice ones from the tree in our yard on hand I use those if not I grab whatever looks great at the farmers market.
I usually choose a semi-firm apple. Some of the softer apples will get too mushy when you are baking this apple crisp.
What do I need to make Weight Watchers apple crisp?
This recipe has two sections for ingredients. We will need one set of ingredients for the filling and another for the topping! I’ll keep them separate here and in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post where you can find the full amounts and list of instructions!
For the filling you will need apples, Lakanto golden sugar substitute, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon. You can use whatever kind of flour you like (or gluten free if needed).
When making the topping you will need more flour, rolled oats, more Lakanto Golden monk fruit sweetener, butter, more cinnamon, and some salt.
That’s it! A lot of those ingredients you probably already have on hand! I’ve included links to the monk fruit sweetener in case you don’t have that readily available at your local grocery spots!
Can I use a different sweetener?
Because sugar draws liquid from fruit, and this recipe does not contain sugar, the filling will not have the slightly syrupy texture that traditional apple crisp has. It will still taste delicious though!
Any sugar-free brown sugar replacements work well in this recipe. If you don’t have those on hand, granulated erythritol or allulose will also work!
Any sweetener that contains erythritol can have a cooling sensation in the mouth. Some people do not experience this at all, while others do so that’s good to know if you’ve never used it before!

Weight Watchers Points Information:
This recipe makes 8 servings for these point values. If you serve it up as 6 larger servings you’ll need to recalculate with that in mind! I use the tool on the Weight Watchers online system, it’s great and super easy!
Which WW Program are these points for?
WW has definitely changed from 2020 to now. They went from three to one plan to multiple plans and back to one plan again. So in 2023, we have just plain old “POINTS.”
- Be sure to calculate the points value of the foods and recipes you eat in the app.
